Here’s the inside story on the Dr. Pepper Tuition Giveaway…
You’ve probably cracked open a Dr. Pepper on tons of occasions when you’ve needed an extra caffeine boost — studying for finals, cranking out term papers, and pulling all nighters. But did you know that it doesn’t just fuel you — it can actually help you pay for school?
The taste experts at Dr. Pepper are giving away over $1,000,000 in scholarship money to current college students, and entering is easy. So how do you win?
Step 1: Pick a goal and submit your story in 350 characters or less. No goal is too big or too small; it’s all about telling YOUR story.
Step 2: Get all your friends to vote for you. At the end of each month, the 5 contestants with the most votes will each receive $1000 in scholarship money. And at the end of the contest, the 5 contestants with the most votes overall will each receive $5,000.
Now for the big leagues — here’s how you win the grand prize. Once you reach 50 votes, submit a short video. You should probably talk about how you want to make an impact with your degree, and what the prize money would mean to you (and, by extension, the world you’re going to change someday).
Videos must be original, unpublished, and no more than one minute in length. And if you’re looking for a competitive edge, it doesn’t hurt to mention your favorite soft drink 😉
16 finalists will be flown out to a college championship football game to compete for the grand prize. The competition involves tossing footballs into giant cans of Dr. Pepper. Sorry, NCAA athletes — you’d have an unfair advantage, so unfortunately you’re not eligible.
The only other requirements? You must be a student and a legal US resident. To win the grand prize, you’ll need to be between 18 and 24 years old, but students over 25 can win leaderboard prizes.
So what are you waiting for? Start practicing your football throw.
